Best Finishes Contest– Show Your Stuff!

You know you’re good at this faux finishing gig! Here is the opportunity to show off your Best Finish at this years annual IDAL convention…and you could win a fabulous prize. The winner will receive FREE Registration to the 2013 IDAL Convention and a copy of The Atrium Online Professional Finishes Collections Volume Two.
Get a 16” x 20” styrene board, tape off a one inch border and let those creative juices fly! Plaster, paint, glaze…no matter what your expertise, we want to see your best original effort. We’ve set aside a special place on the Expo Floor to display all the finishes.
How will the finishes be judged? The winner will be determined by the number of votes it receives. Attendees to Convention will cast their votes by placing stickers (found in their swag bag) on their choice for Best Finish. The finish with the most stickers wins. It’s that easy.The winner will be announced on Friday afternoon, July 27 at the Speed Painting event taking place in the Demo Area. So bring your completed Best Finish to the Registration Desk by noon on Thursday, July 26 and we’ll hang it up for you. Please note that you are bringing the finished sample to convention, not painting it there.
A few rules for the contest:
- Original finishes only, no class samples please.
- Do not sign the piece on the front; we want votes cast on talent, not personality.
- Do put your name and name of finish and any information you wish to share about the finish on the back.
- Leave a one inch border around entire piece; this border is where the stickers will be placed without harming your work. Also we will be hanging them with S hooks. You don’t want holes in your finish do you?
The finish must be done on 16” x 20” Styrene board.
Even if you don’t bring a fab finish to Convention, get in on the fun and vote!
